I just bought a yellow tap optima today. It's gonna power a 3000 watt amp (two JLW7 12"), 4 HID, LED'S taillight, and 2 Viair 480 compressor. I will let you know how long this battery last. Oh I also have a bigger alternator (14.3 v at peak power)

LED tails drain your battery too? What about upgraded led interior lights?

Not exactly. The oil change place I took my car to had the diagnostic tool and determined that my battery was being drained. He said it had a "draw" and suggested a better battery or a capacitor for my system. When I start the car, its very weak. And if I leave the car sitting for a week, it wont start. I jumped it and drove it around for 15 min, but thne once I turn it off and then go back to it later on, its dead again.

That's a different situation. If you are experiencing a battery draw, something is ON that shouldn't be. If your lights created a draw, you would see them (on). The guy who changes your oil isn't qualified to diagnose that kind of problem, or he would be a mechanic, sorry. To find out if something is causing a draw, a technician needs to check circuits in your car with an amp probe. Its not difficult, and cars these days end up with all sorts of funky problems with modules etc. It's certainly possible that your amplifiers are causing the problem, not shutting off properly, etc. A battery or cap won't help that problem in any way, and replacing the battery will just kill the new battery unless the draw is fixed. Since you don't know how to check these things yourself, and you have a lexus with a lot of computers in every circuit, take it to a real mechanic.

Actually, I just decided to replace the battery with a Bosch since the sticker on the energizer battery said "12/2007" If the car dies again while sitting, Ill get the system checked out. Or should I just get that checked out now?

LexusK
you are not understanding the 12/2007 is when it was replaced.
That is not an old battery probably still good.
You are experiencing a drain meaning either your amp or maybe something else is draining power when the key is not in the car.
Meaning something is on all the time.
Accessories are only supposed to be on with the key.

need a tip from you guys... came back from a long international trip and battery is beyond dead (cant even jump...ok, i may have tried starting it once too many times thinking it just might start...sigh) but i need to get to work!! Having almost minimum battery/electrical knowledge, just wondering if someone could shed me some wisdom.

There is an autozone around the corner and they carry these below...

I also have a 5ch elemental designs amp and a headunit...which I think would draw more power than a factory car.

1. Optima / 12 Volts, 720 CCA (910 CA) RedTop automotive starting battery with post terminals

2. Duralast Platinum / Battery

3. Gold Duralast / Battery
