Unhappy Help Please!! Gear

Okay. I was going to replace the gear indicator bulb, and instead of pulling the bulb out and replacing it. I turned and twisted the bulb housing which made it fall inside the gear housing. So I unscrewed the two bolts to get inside the gear housing, and now I can not get the spring (that releases the gear) back into place. Now the middle of my car is in parts because I can not put it back together, can someone please help? PLEASE!

Funny thing is, i did the same thing, i felt dumb not just pulling the bulb out for some reason i twisted that base and it fell in, i was able to get it back into place without taking everything apart though..
