idk if i read it somewhere or came up with it on my own.

but was thinking leds or led strip(s) under the hood would be VERY useful at night or when i dont have sufficient light and i need to work or be under hood. sounds very useful if i ever need to pull over on side of road at night or something. dont always have a flash light and its annoying having to hold it one with one hand and do work with the other.

a kill switch to turn the led(s) on and off would be awesome.
think im going to do it as a project.
has it been done?

Yeah, Glen(RMMGS4) has it on his GS. Pretty useful mod at night to work on the car or for a fancy decoration at car shows lol. But, if your car is mostly stock, what is there to work on? There's really nothing to break or go wrong from the factory

I have been thinking about this too. I don't have electricity in my garage so when it gets darker it's more difficult to work.

I'd probably go with some extra bright white leds strips or something.

this isn't my picture but it was the one we used to fab up his setup

easily done just need to loom the wires so they don't get pinched as you open and shut your hood

Here ya go. I originally did this for the annual WEKFEST show held in a dimly lit garage, but it turned out to be a great mod to work on the engine too.

Two V-LED 6” strips.
