Hey guys, i have a lifter tick issue on my GS, and it is fairly noticeable when the car is cold especially in michigan winter days. I have searched the whole forum but this is not at all an issue with these cars lol. Any idears as to how i can quiet it down some?

 

hey man, i actually have the same issue. i know on mine it's because my oil is old and i haven't replaced it. i don't seem to have the noise when the engine is warm though.

had a similar issue when i had a 95 miata. after i changed the oil on my miata during the winter, the noise would go away after the engine was idling for less than 30 seconds.

 

If it only makes noise when it's cold, it normal. If it makes noise all the times, it's time for valve adjustments.

 

I dont know about this being that normal, i just recently started to notice it maybe within like a month or two. Its really noticeable when the car is cold especially when its really really cold out, however once it warms up 80 percent of the noise goes away but not all of it. Under load though its very hard to notice but once warm and at a traffic light you can still somewhat tell its there but not like on a cold start up.
