Which is best for the job for the crank bolt? Chain wrench or the Schley tool? I was thinking the chain wrench, but I'm not sure.

I don't think it is going to matter that much. Although you are probably less likely to damage the pulley with the Schley. Anyway... I just pulled my crank pulley off a couple of days ago with a Schley. I had two, two-foot breaker bars and the two of us still needed a 4-foot pipe cheater and a 10-feet cheater. When they say that bolt is on ridiculously tight, they are not kidding. So, chain wench or Schley, its going to take two people and plenty of leverage. Just as an FYI, I tried the starter method and an impact wench rated at 550 lbf. Neither of those worked.
