Default tire question

I'm probably going to be buying wheels soon as I cracked my oem IS front wheel lol
the rear is 18x10 +25 and when I shave the rear fenders do you guys think I can still keep the 40 series tires?
I was probably going to run a 245/40...I know it's a beefy sidewall lol but more protection the better for where I live

245/40/18 looks pretty square. Maybe 235/40 would fit better? I did 225/40 on a 18x10 and it looked great and still had alot of sidewall
