It may be $1K now, but how long has it been paid for? New car payment on a nice ride = $600-700 a month. That's less than two payments, and if nothing else is wrong, you're ahead. You can decide, but if it's going to last another 6-12 months with no other major concerns, the smart $$ are in that master cylinder replacement.
my father's sienna made the same noise and it seem like playing with the abs sensor helped fix the issue for a good month then it ended up being master brake cylinder that was trashed, it kept making the sound every minute, holy ****
Wait, are you sure its not the ac compressor? Mine did a whistling noise similar to that when it went out. Just make sure the "AC" button is not lit. If it isnt lit and it's making that noise, then it's something else. Although I'm guessing no one has the ac on during this time

No, I am pretty sure it is not the AC. Everything is leaning towards that ABS Brake Master Cylinder. On mine the cylinder to the left of the reservoir cycles on and off and never stops. All the while the audible noise in the car does not go away.
Mine does the exact same thing .. Periidically ill get all those lights on and the noise then a minute later it goes away.. It hasnt happened in a few weeks though.. Someone said it might be the alternator my brakes still work fine
OK, I am not familiar at all with the inner workings of these vehicles. Could this be some kind of warning sign that the unit is not getting 12volts? Someone please chime in. I would hate to spend hard earned money on a part and it still have the same problem. I just recently went through this with the starter, and and the only problem was battery connector. Is it these lights going off some sort of sign that something else is failing like the alternator?
