If anyone actually cares anymore - it was the previous 7 series, not the new moon landing looking one!

Aesthetics aside (that is a very personal, subjective thing), it seems that BMW really missed the mark with the interior of the new 7. iDrive has been universally panned; it's not smart to build a car that your target market can't figure out. BMW's admitted design philosphy these days is to give customers what they don't think they want because they will eventually realize that they do. It's either brilliant, ahead-of-its-time marketing or a colossal miscalculation that will hurt them for years. Time will tell...

Everyone has their opinions, my friend loves the new 7 I on the other hand think... bmw could have done better... but its a nice change anyways. I don't understand what a BMW traitor is, technically wouldn't he be a Lexus traitor too for wanting to own a M3 that is not a lexus? That makes no sense, bmw traitor haha. 7 series is a nice car... but. Its only ok, not something amazing like BMW planned. As much as people like the bmw 7 I am pretty sure more people will dislike than like it... its more for a person that loves gadgets. Just my thoughts.

My point exactly: Either it's a really bad joke or a really bad flaming comment...

Thanks for clarifying! Yes, the E38 is a beauty - very classic lines...

Back to the original topic...

Here in Dallas there are Beemers EVERYWHERE!!

All of them do one of two things when they see my car, either stare with their mouths open or do their best to ignore it. One of the thrills I get is to go to car shows where they put me in the same class with the Audi(s) Benz(s) and Beemers. They get so pissed when they call first place as a Toyota Aristo/ Lexus GS. One guy at a show a couple weeks ago even made it a point to come over to let me know that his M3 Dinan was far superior to my "old" piece of "J@p crap." I just smiled and asked if he had seen the trophy in front of the car that said that apparently not everybody agreed with him.

I think that when you buy a Beemer you get an attitude for free. It kinda reminds me of about every Fountain (boat) owner I've met.

For those who don't believe me (namely CSHFLW)...

Here is a link to ONE of the many posts on the E65 forum regarding the so-called "revolutionary car"...

Default been there

When I had my 318,325 ,and528, it seemed as if the entire world was talking Lexus. Whether at work, store, dealerships, car clubs,etc.. the word Lexus came up just too damn much. Considering I was a di hard German car lover, I was a bit skeptical about the Lexus name and harbored some animosity to the brand. But....repair after repair on my German vehicles and the Lexus buzzword prompted me to check one out-an SC300. I have never looked back since and am glad that I was open enough to allow possiblities in the future. Maybe one day I will buy another Bimmer, but certainly not now with what is available.
So when a BMW owner looks/glances over at me on the road, I stare back and just rev the 32valve VVTi V8 and fill my face with a smile that no BMW in the past ever gave me and watch them turn their head away.
All car companies have a nice car in their lineup, but very little can compare to the total Lexus experience and many out there know this.
I used to deal with just about every automotive repair ship in So Cal. Imagine the surprise of many of the European shops when I pulled up in my Lexus's. Of course some asked why, but they would never counter or question my response in choosing a Lexus over a Benz or BMW. Many though would just give my car accolades as they are true auto enthusiasts and understand how serious of a player Lexus is and how sweet the GS is.

if you scrunch up your eyes, the two pics in Bliu post away back, look kinda alike!!! New 7 and GS. The lines are similar.
I saw a 7 series that was "fixed" up some and it did not look bad at all. Kinda mean looking with the right setup.

bottom line....unless your 40 the new 7 is the hotest car on the market....and thats fine with me that they are selling them at cost....I'll get even a better deal in a few months when I go in and buy a X5 and 745....

I'm only 30, but I don't get your point. Not trying to flame, I just don't know what you're saying!
