Default car is shaking CEL P0446.

So the other day I was driving and my gas light went on, then out of no where my car starts shaking violently and so I pulled over to a gas station to filled it up. then as i was driving, it shook again. and then my cel went on and so I just drove it home. the next day i went to go get it check and the code was P0446.

basically I want to find out what is wrong with the car. The shaking feels as if its misfiring. and the rpm dips to like 300 and when i drive it. the rpm is really high before it shifts. =/ Oh and when the car is cold it doesn't shake, its after it gets up to temp and I drive about 5-10miles is when it starts up.

the car sounds almost like a ls1 open headers.....

You probably have a shot spark plug or two. Have them checked out. I went through something similar a few years ago.

As for the first CEL you posted,

http://www.obd-codes.com/p0446

What other specific codes are you getting?
Whats your year, mileage of your car?

Have you checked your spark plugs? Ignition wires? You also mention that its loud... hole in a flexpipe loud or other?

What other specific codes are you getting? - I just checked and 1-4 clyinder is missfiring as of now and the code p0446 isn't popping up anymore. vsl light is also on.

Whats your year, mileage of your car? 99 gs300, just hit 200k

Have you checked your spark plugs? Ignition wires? You also mention that its loud... hole in a flexpipe loud or other?- I just changed new plugs today and wires, still loud and shakes. no hole in the pipes, lifted the car nothing is damaged.

Has the timing been done? a 99 has a non interference engine but I'm not sure what else to come up with other than possible problems with the injectors but its not stalling...

yes, fresh timing belt done 10k miles ago or so...

new code popped up-P1349 code, VVT bank 1 malfunction

its seems as if more and more problems are popping up. I really don't know what to do now.

It's probably not "more" problems. It's the same problem. djspawn00 is incorrect, the 99 is a 2JZ-GE VVTi engine and is an interference engine. But, I doubt it really matters. Unless the issue is a weak timing belt tensioner or an issue with the new timing belt. Which seems unlikely. If you have a few tools, checking the VVTi oil control filter might be helpful. It's cheap, easy, and if it works, hurray! https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ve-filter.html

If not, you're probably looking at plugs/injectors.
