Default Quick question

Hello gents, i just had my tbelt and water pump changed thru a freind of a freind and he works at the lexus dealer its self. He charged me half of what the dealer charges. I was not provided with any documents and he provided the parts. My question is how do i know its been replaced by visually looking at it?

the water pump would look new if you can see it... slightly shiner i guess... also the timing belt comes with a sticker that he should put on the cover... if you have a gs3 take off the cover and took a look to see if the belt looks brand new...

hope for your sake the the idler, crank seals and tensioner were done.

Don't know about the GS4, but on a GS300 you can see the waterpump easily, and as was said earlier, it should stand out from the rest of the engine bay and be shiny. If you take the big cover off the top (4 bolts) and the top smallish cover on the front, you will be able to see the top of the timing belt (5 minute job). Just keep tapping the starter until you see writing on the belt. You will be able to tell if it is a new belt by the clean, clear lettering on the belt. If he got the parts from the dealer, it should say "Toyota" on it.

I guess you don't trust this guy.
