Default 2001+ GS Trunklid Carpeting

Quick question to 01+ GS owners...I'm reinstalling my trunklid carpeting and I have the trunk release handle on it (2001+) does the carpet go over or under that black plastic backing of the release handle assembly??

Don't know if this will help you, but I saw this picture somewhere. Don't remember where, but thanks to whoever it may belong to.

if I'm recalling correctly - carpeting goes in between the edges of that black plastic unit w/ handle.

So the black plastic trim ring goes ontop & the carpeting is in the middle...

that's right, the carpeting goes in the middle of the lever, it's a PITA to remove and get back on.

i dunno if its cause i have had mine off so much but for me its fairly simple....keep in mind my interior has been out a handful of times. get a little flathead to help you wedge it in the groove though

so the plastic emergency handle has a lip on both the front/back of it with a groove in the middle the carpet goes INTO the middle of the lip in the groove

i have WHOLE box of them i can send you a few if you wanna pay shipping for them VIA USPS. i swear i have atleast 20+ of these

i DID try a few univeral ones and if i recall correctly the ones from the GM held the best....albeit still not as good as the oem ones.

BTW if u dont know what i mean by a grove i can probably snap a pic of it tonight as my liner is also out to replace my warranty LED back up tag
