Default need some advice

This morning I walked over to my car and noticed all four windows & sunroof are open. I thought that this was an a electric problem and drove to work ... tonight when I got back home I unplugged the battery and noticed that the drivers side door lock was drilled through. Looks like nothing was taken, I got full insurance with Geico is it worth for me to claim it or fix the lock myself? Also, why were the windows & sunroof open? Did the drill trigger that sensor that opens all windows when the key is held in for a few seconds?

You can roll the windows up and down by turning and holding the drivers door tumbler in one direction or the other. Either they knew this and drilled it out to roll down the window or it just happened as they were breaking in.

If it happened in an area where you regularly leave your car I suggest having this feature disabled. It requires a factory scan tool. They may have been looking for a wheel key if you are on aftermarket wheels.

I have no idea on the cost to repair.

maybe, but I think the alarm is what actually spooked them ... I had a few things that are worth to take and weren't big to carry (if I were a thief I'd definitely take them rather than leaving empty handed)

No offense but this is a very ignorant uninformed assumption. I have never lived in the non "poor side of town" and I have never had my cars broken into. It happens everywhere and is done by poor people and rich people alike.
