Question Another Key Question

Hi all,
I read through a lot of the post concerning key replication, however it did not address a simpler question I have. Just for the record, I used the search function, and got back a perfect post, with links to dead ends. I apologize for this because I am sure the regulars see these all the time and eyes go rolling.

I have both master keys for the car (no idea where the valet is, DOH!, and the unlock key is in my wallet).

Anyway, one of the masters battery is dead, and the other one I just cracked the case really well ( more like shattered). So I ordered a new blank off ebay, and was hoping I could just take it to the dealership and have them cut a new key and then transfer the transponder to the new case. Am I way off here? Is there additional programming that needs to be done? Or is that easy?

Thanks for answering my boneheaded question!!! Take care.

you can go to Sewell Lexus site and fill out form with VIN and they will cut you a blank with shell and mail it to you.
