I just thought the other day this was my problem also.. My gauges just stopped working and my air didn't work anymore and none of my interface worked.. Dash lights were out.. It was crazy.. My mechanic and his parts guy said it was the 'Interface Cluster'. That's what causes your gauges to go loco.

Funny thing about mine is.. It all started working perfectly again yesterday and has been good since, so we're all like 'wtf?!', but yeah that's definitely your Interface Cluster.

My the guy that supplies my mechanic with his parts said that the GS3 (my car is a GS3 but I doubt there's that much difference between 3 and 4) mimic's the LS in that way, 'cause he said the LS's have that problem with the cluster and whatnot.

Just take it to a mechanic and tell them your Interface Cluster is acting up and you want it replaced. They should be able to take care of it.

Hope this helps.
