1998 GS400

Fuel smell one of the problems.

Took a Vegas trip this past weekend....

Problem #1
On the way there going up hill in 115 Degrees weather i put pedal to the metal to pass a few cars, next time i pull over my rear end of the car is full of some type of oil looks like it came from somewhere around transmission doesn't leak anymore but under pressure (i am guessing) it squirts out from somewhere....Any ideas anyone???

Problem #2
On the way back again 115 Deg weather it was the same in Vegas.
I drive out of Vegas everything fine (did not leak or squirt any oil anymore), but as soon as traffic came to a stop ALL THE FUN STARTED HAPPENING.

The problem as soon as i come to a stop the car drops RPM to 100-200 and want to turn off but jumps back up and gives me power ( i was like holly **** i am in the middle of desert with 115 deg weather).. anyway it gives me power back and goes again it starts to drop RPM and when i give it gas it just bogs down and again it gives me power.....sooooo it did that on and off for some time.. after which it starts to run fine !!!! what could it be ????

I pull over at Buffalo Bill and i smell raw gas smell from somewhere around gas tank in rear of the car.....anyone any idea if thats normal in 115 deg weather???? was not from the engine bay or anywhere near engine.

As soon as i got back in to Orange county there was no more smell everything is working right and i drove car with no problem 100miles today>

Car gave me 2 times in the past year (about 6 month apart) a code p0171....i just rest.

Also same thing happen on FWy 2 weeks ago, power no power and bogging when pressing pedal.... did it a few times and never again until Vegas trip.... no everything is fine....

 

anyone have any input...

 

Try cleaning the MAF sensor..
