Is it? If you have a +55 wheel vs a +40 wheel, the +40 wheel would be more outwards, wouldn't it?
In terms of aesthetics and given the wheels are the same width, the one with the lower offsets will "look better." Usually wheels with lower offsets will have a deeper lip (which looks cooler to most and granted it has an outer lip). This is why you see VIP'd cars with such low offsets and wide widths, sometimes offsets are even in the negative.
so confused. whazzzzuup has +38. so if its higher.. it'll be pushed out too far. thats why it wouldnt look as nice. correct? lol so basically you just have to know how far to do it!
No. My stock wheels are 17x8 with a +50 offset. When you add spacers, you move the wheel further outside. So you have to subtract 38mm from the rear wheel and 33mm from the front wheel. The wheels will be equivalent to a 17x8 with a +17mm in the front and a 17x8 with a +12mm offset in the rear.
Remember that is without fender mods. With fender mods, you can go even bigger (but I wouldn't recommend it). Just get wheels that fit your car correctly.
i have been wondering about this lately and didn't wanna post something about it as im sure its been covered and way to lazy to search all the tire threads to find out the info about what size spacers i would need on my oem 16's with 205/55/16 (i think this is my tire size i forgot and its late and im not going outside) and info for me lo_dit or can i use the same spacers as above??
looks good
i also have OEM 16" wheels and OEM tire size was 225/55/16 for my gs430, could be different for gs300/400. but since you have 225/55/16, you can easily go with a 20mm spacer in front and a 25mm in rear. those were the spacers i used with the 16" oem setup.
and yes you could push it out to even 30mm up front and 38mm spacers in the rear if you felt the need to.

do u have a pic to show how yours looked on those spacers? im only wanting to buy them once as i will be installing my g35's shortly but im tired of this sunken look so if i need the 30mm and 38mm thats fine but i dont wanna buy the 20/25mm and need more. thanks for this info though im on the right track.....
sakataj, to get them to sit almost flush like the pictures I provided, you will need a 49mm spacer for the rear and a 44mm spacer in the front. It still won't be flush because you are running thinner tires. Time for some wheels, man!

wow....that seems like to so, so much. i thought it wasnt recommended to get a spacer past 30mm? i have some wheels, time to get off my lazy butt and go get them off my buddys car (they were sitting in his garage for a year so i told him he could mount them)
does anyone have any pics of the 16 inch oem wheels with a spacer? i have a set of 1" spacers i want to throw on there with the oems just to see what they look like but was wondering if anyone had actually done it, thanx yall.!!
