Yo, my car has a hesitation issue when I put it in reverse and give it the gas. It doesn't seem to have a problem shifting to reverse or any gears. But when I back up, it definitely hesitates a little before the fuel seems to kick in.
I've also noticed this a couple times when I stopped at a sign at the bottom of a hill going forward and then hit the gas quick to go.
Any thoughts on what this sounds like? I'm thinking maybe fuel filter or worse pump?
Unless your car is heavily modded I wouldn't jump to conclusions that it's fuel related. Your transmission ( torque converter) could possibly be dying but it's hard to tell from your description.
i have the same issue, def a hesitation while backing up, like i hit something then go, and the same with casual accelerating on a hill or straight, Im assuming that its a misfire, but will get it checked out sometime in the next few weeks.
The car has no noticeable issues shifting gears. In fact it seems as smooth as silk with the exception of the slight hesitation in
reverse and occasional stop and go. That's the only reason I was thinking fuel. It almost seems like it's taking a sec for the gas to get up there. Sounds like AC9 might have the same issue. Please keep me posted!
mine has the same issue i got an 01 also, it would hesitate occasionally when i stop and go, everytime i step on the brake to stop at the red light, the rpm would drop down to like 450-500ish for a few second and then go bak up :s
Possibly and elcetrical issue with the tranny... that is the actual timing when you put in reverse to the response time of the car... Wait for some more opinions... this is a good topic...
Ive got the same issue.. I have an 03 430... how often does the fuel filter need to be changed??? my car has 97k on it now so will need timing belt and water pump in the next few weeks.. while its in the shop i woulld love to get that hesitation taken care of.
Same problem.....i have an 02 Gs300. Does anybody know if a bad Throttle Control Lever Sensor has this affect when in reverse? From what I have been reading this is most likely the cause of hesitation and lack of power when in drive. I will also be changing coilpacks too though.
