What did the pads look like? Were the inners or outers worn more then the other side?

Pads looked good. Although they might have been wearing uneven just slightly though.

Could a calliper problem cause a violent pedal pulsation and loud shaking?

Also, this problem gets better in the rain.

no it's either a warped rotor or the bushing's in the front end are shot

If you rotate the tires, front to back and back to front, does the vibration change?

Did you lube or at least check the caliper pins?
Uneven wear is a sign that something is binding.

I would suggest checking your LBJ and the tie rods first...then check to see if the pistons in the calipers are seized or not....if one is seized...and the is working properly, that may cause the shaking.

I assume you have quality rotors...some cheap ones may be warped a bit.

Also, check if you mounted your wheels and torqued the lugs properly.

Thanks so much for the help guys.
I'm gonna drop it off to a decent shop close to my house and see what they say.

I have to have them do some other stuff that I can't DIY anyway.

I'll let you guys know what the prob was. Prob drop it off next week sometime.

If you only get vibrations when applying the brakes, it's most likely the brakes and not some suspension parts.

Check for black "spots" on your brake rotors. Those spots is steel that turned into cementite due to very high temperature and the rotor starts wearing unevenly (cementite doesn't wear off). This is not quite the same as warping.

Well, I found the culprit and I feel like an *** for bothering u guys.
It was a bad rear rotor with grooves in the pads.

I had a mechanic do my upper ctl arms and bushings a while ago, and he put rear pads in so I didn't think about the rotors too much. They were pretty smooth for a while but I let em go too long.

Never again will that guy touch my car.

Me and my boy did my rear pads, rotors and serpintine belt today and it took an hour to do everything.

Shaking, noise gone!

I was ignorant. Don't hold it against me.LOL.

Thanks for all the replies all u CL'ers. Don't know what I'd do without ya.

it's always best to replace your rotors everytime you feel a shake while you're braking. don't resurface because it's already warped
