Let me start by saying yes I searched for this, but I found nothing. When I hop in my car at night (2004 GS300) and turn it on the instrument panel and radio backlights are on. However, when I turn on my headlights my radio backlights and instrument panel backlights (speedometer and what not) go out and I cannot even see how fast I'm going or what radio station I'm on. I needed my battery replaced so I figured that may be the cause but I just put in a new one and it has not solved the problem. My GS is completely factory. Thanks ahead of time for any help in solving this frustrating problem/disgnosing it.
Instrument panel light control switch, located below the drivers side vent, turn the **** to adjust the brightness.

i started to click on franks comment awhile ago and say something like man im sure dude has tried that. thats not gonna be his solution, then i started thinking....well, maybe its not so stupid, maybe he didnt know bout the dimmer. lets see what OP says.....and....

I hit the **** with my knee getting in my car in a tight parking spot at the airport.
I started to drive off and noticed my dash lights were off!! I kinda freaked, stopped the car and for a few moments I had no idea until my knee started to hurt a little and I was wondering why.
This was all very entertaining my wife that was sitting in the passenger seat...
Haha I must of hit it and nvr even realized it. I don't know how the **** can be turned all the way down never even realizing but it def happened. I even showed it to other people and they were like "I have no idea." Good to know I'm not the only Einstein around here lol.
