so about a year ago i got some bridgeston hp550 tires on my gs.
they ride good and they handle good. usually i only use my gs for city driving, so i dont quite get to test out their performance (nor do i need to).
but after installing them from sears i started getting quite a few complaints from passengers about how noisy my car was now, and that it used to be so quiet. i didnt think theyd be so noisy.
well now im looking for some good and QUIET tires, these things make waaay too much noise. i feel like im not even in a luxary car anymore. what are some good performance tires that are quiet? any suggestions
Michelin Energy MX4s - great tire, quiet, long-life but expensive
but worth EVERY penny, this is what i have used for last 4-5 years on all my cars. have had the current set on my gs since 2008 with a rotation ever 5000 miles or 3 miles (i work down the street from my tire place) they have PLENTY of tread still on them
Avoid Yokohama YK520s... one of the loudest tires I've EVER driven on.
I'll be going back to Eagle F1 AS soon.
Really? I've had quite the opposite experience. I went from Michelins (nice tires) to BFG's (NEVER AGAIN!!!!) and then to the Yoko's after only about 15K on the BFG's because I couldn't take it any longer. I love the Yokos and they are, IMO, as quiet as the Michelins. Even the tire shop guy couldn't believe how loud the BFG's were, and he drove it from the bay to the door (about 90 feet).

So which is it? 5k miles, or 3 miles? LOL...I'm sure you meant 3 months, Brian.
The OP has done little to explain what size wheel is on the car as well if there is a staggered fitment. In the 16 inch fitment, there are TONS of options. When you move to 17 or 18, even when staggered, there are still great handling tires that are VERY quiet. Once you move to 19 or 20’s you’re looking at a all-season with the highest rating possible.
Plenty of folks can say, Falken FTW…or Michelin, etc. but unless you do you research and give folks here the parameters you might take a look at www.tirerack.com first, then ask the question.

Big Mack
lol, i did mean 3 months mack oops. truthfully i also rotate them anytime i go out of town just cause its free to me and they so close to my work. can drop it off and go get it after work. performace tire in memphis takes good care of me.....free nitrogen too.
The Best thing about working in a tire shop is that you get to test out SOOOO many tires and you get to here reviews on them from all your customers
Here are my top picks for performance, handling and noise
Performance all season = Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Performance Summer = Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Highway passenger = Goodyear Assurance TripleTread (only H speed rating)
