Default Two Questions

After a couple of days of Lexus ownership, I have a couple of things you all might be able to help me with:

1) Am I doing something wrong, or does the owner's manual not fit in the glove box? This is going to drive me crazy!

2) As a BMW owner I paid to join the BMW Car Club of America. In addition to a very professional full-color glossy magazine every month, they offered parts and service discounts at most BMW centers and hefty cash rebates from BMW North America if you bought another Bimmer. Is there anything like this for Lexus? I don't mean this website, because I consider this a much more informal kind of thing. Any help would be appreciated!

The manuel won't fit in the glove box. That pissed me off when I first get the car.

Currently there is no official Club Lexus mag but you could be a paid member of Club Lexus for $30/year to enjoy some discount and etc.

my guess is that the manual was made to fit in the glove box without the CD changer. just a guess though

my manual and the navigation manual and all fit inside the leather thing, with a disc changer. gotta stuff it to one side(right for me) with the thick end inside and smaller end closer to the passenger. granted, i might have to slam it just a bit, but it goes in and closes without any drama now.

Dude , Biggie- you're tripping- that is for the first aid kit!!!! Yes the manual will fit in the glove box- far to the left with the spine closest to the bottom. If not keep flipping around til it will close.....it is a tight fit but then it doesn't make any noise either. This is the closest thing to the BMW club for Lexus owners out there. Sorry bro.

Like bravo, mine also fits. However I don't keep it in there anymore...need room for extra CD magazines. Unfortunately there is no "Lexus Club of America" but we do have ClubLexus

You could put 1000 manuals in the glovebox if you microfiche the pages...

1) - it will fit, the plastic holder for the manuals can be laid 'staggered' so it gives enough room. But the better solution is to take the first aid kit out of the side of your trunk and just slam it someplace else (like on the trunk liner over the rear wheel) because it's got velcro to hold it, and put the manual where the first aid kit was and tighten the strap.

2) THIS is the closest thing we've got to BMW CCA. Even with those discounts you still paid more We get a tiny magazine called InsideLexus once in a while (see www.insidelexus.com).

GUYS GUYS GUYS,

the manual fits so easily in the glove box. let me tell you guys how to do it. plus, the glove box closes easily too, so NO SLAMMIN NEEDED!

this is what you guys do:
have the manual in its case folded in the correct position with the front cover facing up. when you put it in the glove box, make sure the "lexus" logo is upside down to you. and make sure you put it in the center. GENTLY close the glovebox and voala! it's in there

Thank you all SO MUCH! I just put my wayward manual in the glove box, fat side in. It was a squeeze, but I imagine that over time it will squish somewhat and make closing the glove box easier.

I also signed up to receive InsideLexus--thank you bit for that tip. You know my wife and I were just talking about how we don't miss the BMW at all--there is no regret there whatsoever. Weird, huh?

Not really...funny thing about the GS, the longer you own it the more you like and appreciate it, at least that has been my experience.

answer for your first question:

that's because its not suppose to go there..

it goes in trunk next to first aid kit

hope that helps
