Default Newbie w/ offset issues HELP

I purchased a 98 gs300 a couple weeks ago and I decided to put some rims on it, the wheels I'm purchasing are 19x9f w/+42 offset rears are 19x9r w/+30 offset will these be okfor a gs300? Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I'm totally lost with this offset issue. Thanx

Offset measures spacing dimension of rim to center line. Use the Offset calculator on line to help you. plug current wheel, plug in new wheel and u get the dimension difference in MM. take a ruler and see how far in or out the new wheel will extend.

^ that doesnt allow for camber, tyre sizes, if you need to roll guards etc though...

these will be okay, pretty sunken. shouldnt need to touch guards at all. maybe 235 or245/35 front and 245 or 255/35 rear
