Default Picking Up the GS Thursday?

The saga continues... The salesman called today with "good news and bad news."

The good news was that the wheels came in and have been installed. The bad news is that the steering ECU has NOT come in (despite them telling me before that everything but the wheels had arrived). To make a long story short, I took them up on the offer to pick up the car tomorrow with a "We Owe" sheet for them to install the steering ECU at my convenience when it comes in. I guess it will be kind of cool having the standard ECU for a bit and then getting the L-Tuned one put in to see how much difference in feel there really is, but I would really have liked to have the car all put together and complete when I picked it up.

In any event, tomorrow will be a busy day. The BMW lease inspection guy comes by between 12:00 and 3:00 then I have to drive two hours or so to the Lexus place, sign the paperwork, drop the BMW off at the BMW dealer next door, and drive the new GS home. Wish me luck!

I absolutely would not sweat not having steering ECU yet. It can only affect your steering feel while L-Tuned suspension will obviously make profound difference in handling. I still have the standard ECU at this time (and I'll bet your dealership thinks that you're nuts to switch ECUs, since the part #s are the same for the GS430 and L-Tuned ECU).

My vote is with biggie: one last big doughnut in the Bimmer parking lot!

Congratulations, too!! It may be a busy day today, but it'll be work well done!!!

actually its a good thing that your not getting the ECU right away, this way you can apreciate the diffrence when you get it installed
