Default I'm a being sensitive?

In the last two weeks I brought in my Lexus for service and a warranty repair and both times they left the paper floormats in the car. Today, they left both papermats in the car and my plastic floormat that covers the regular floormat on top of the back seat.

Are they trying to tell me something? Oh, and I still have the rattles I came in for and I was told it was the coins that were making the noise. (I've had the rattles since I bought the car in 1999)

This might be a little extreme but I seriously thinking of trading this car in for a 5 series if the rattles can't be fixed.

Okay, I am done venting....

I would like the rattle fix and I might try to find an independent shop to look at it. Anyone know a good one in the S.F. bay area?

lol no most car companies do leave the paper and plastic in the cars. It's just there to show you that they don't want to ruin any of your carpentry.

Are you serious?

I don't like causing any trouble but since they can't fix the rattles, little things like this are magnified 1000x's. I'm thinking, this a 43k car and the damn thing rattles more then a 12k corolla. What's wrong with this picture?

I think there is a TSB for the sunroof rattle.

I've brought it in for these rattles six times now. The last time I suggested that the tech drive it and he heard it. He put some felt and supposedly cut it down 95% but when I left the dealership that day it was worse then when I came in. This time, it sounds better, but I can still hear it.

Pain in the ***. That's why no performance $$ have been put in it. I don't know if it's going to be a long term car.

I'm an old fart plus my wife doesn't like the music that loud. I lived with a ragtop mustang for ten years by blasting the tunes. That was a rattler...shaker

Was browsing the forum and came across someone with a seemingly similar problem to your own

Fixed dash creek/rattle
A big thanks to the mobile service guy (Vatche Agopian) at Glendale Calif. Lexus for fixing the creeking noise in my dash.

Both the dealer and I first though it was the insert around the gauges ( replaced....no fix), then a bunch of felt around the insert (again no fix).

The mobile tech guy guessed in might be coming from where the cover to the (A pillar?) comes down and goes into the back of the dash. In my case he could push on the end of the cover near the dash and it would make the noise. I guess the dash was pushing up against the cover. He removed the cover, put felt around the plastic tab that juts out at the end of the cover that goes behind the dash and applied a little lubricant somewhere behind the dash. Problem fixed....hope it lasts.

He used a special tool to get the interior cover off.....not sure I would try to get this off myself without the tool.

Hope this helps

Vatche is very nice. He worked on my car a couple of times...very pleased.

Other thing...you said Glendale, CA....but you still live in North Carolina?

Eitherways...glad it worked out for ya.

The Lexus dealership I go to told me that the rattle I am hearing is caused by the padding in the sunroof cover wearing down. They told me that if my car where still under the original warranty, it would be covered, but since it ran out a few months ago, there is nothing they can do. I have learned that when it started rattling, I need to make sure it is either all the way open or closed, anywhere in between it will rattle.

you should take all the coins out of your ccar before you take it to the dealers and show them that its not the coins that are causing the problems, then they are forced to fix it if they still persist that its not a problem from the car I suggest complaining to lexus HQ about the dealers themselfs
