I think with a roll from a "professional", you will get what you are looking for. I'd only worry about the paint cracking.

Just out of curiosity...there are a couple of CL members that have 8.5" aftermarket wheels all around (+42) that run 25mm spacers in the rear with NO fender mods...and it looks flush. Isn't this the equivalent (calculated figures) of what I am trying to achieve?

No your 9.5" wheel would sit out an extra 7mm with a 15mm spacer.

Refer to this Rock, one of the most invaluable tool in choosing wheels

I ran an 18x8.5 (225/40 tire) wit +41 offset and a 25mm spacer. Wouldn't fit without modification. I was touching the lip with the tire.

Yep a shave helped correct that right Chris? Rock's preffered setup would extend an extra 6mm from this.

...6mm. I am trying to arrive at this figure.

My setup (speaking about wheels only) is 19X9.5 verus excluesive's setup is 18X8.5. Now I understand that every 1" = roughly 25mm. RESULT: I am 25mm out farther than him (without adding his 25mm spacer yet).

I am at a +38 offset whereas he is at a +41 offset. RESULT: This is an additional 3mm out farther than him.

So 25+3=28mm...now he adds his 25mm wheel spacer pushing him out another 25mm. We are now only 3mm apart (where I am further out by 3mm).

I have NO rubbing issues as it sits right now; no fender mods needed - why did he need fender mods? Is he slammed (tucking). Am I thinking about this wrong? If so, please clarify so I can understand.

according to the wheel calculator,
8.5" wide with +41 offset will sit 16mm in more than your current setup.
him adding a 25mm spacer, will put him at 9mm (16mm-25mm= -9mm)further out that your current set up, from there, you would be adding a 15mm spacer (9mm -15mm= -6mm) putting you 6mm further out than him.

ahhh...now, I understand. I didn't realize that I was adding the entire 1" (or 25.4mm) difference when in reality only 13mm should be added because the total width difference is supposed to be halved. So in my previous post I was showing that I was +3mm further out than him where in reality he was +9mm further out than me! (+3mm - 13mm = -10mm or -9mm like the result you got). The -13mm is me taking away the half rim width difference that I incorrectly had in my calculations.

...and by me adding another 15mm (as a spacer) will put me 6mm out further than him...which is NO GOOD because he needed to do fender mods.

So based on this new data the only thing I can add without fender mods is a 5mm spacer; a 10mm spacer would more or less put just about at the same fender location as him.

Will 5mm make a noticable difference? Or should I just get 10mm and cut (or roll) the inside of the fender lining.

All makes sense now...thanks guys!

Rock just shave the rear fender and you'll be fine. 5mm really isnt worth it IMHO.

Too lazy to make my own thread lol. I bought a set of 18x9 +35 offset wheels from my buddy with 245/45/18's all around. Just wondering how they would look on the GS.

Is this hard to do? Or do I have to leave it to the bodyshop?

Thanks again for all your input and to the others that contributed to this thread!

Not too hard to shave, here's one method.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...ear-shave.html

The other method would use a belt sander without removing the trim piece. I think it was either RMMGS4 or Rominl had a DIY on this years ago but I didn't find it in the sticky just now. It's probably out there if you search.
