Default This forum kicks a$$

So I am a straight noob to this forum, been on nissan forums for awhile with my s13 and b13, but this one is different. Probably due to the types of cars. But I gotta say, I searched a lot of things I had questions on and found more htne what I needed.

I had a loud wind noise, searched found out about the holes in the floorpan, fixed that, sound is quieter. Also found out about putting some 1/4" and 3/8" foam caulk backing into the weather stripping and window rail to reduce noise further, going to buy the stuff at ace tomorrow and done.

On my nissan forums, at least for the s chassis, no one carried about wind noise. We all just built motors and boosted and did brakes and suspension etc anything in the name of performance. I even gutted the car and had just a dash and door panels, lots heim joints and pillow ball mounts with a 4 pt bar and some sparco evo's and 4 pt harness' all in the name of kick your *** on the street, with no comfort for myself.

Back to the 2gs
So I take a road trip and notice a vibration at freeway speeds, i think I need to balance my tires, until I searched here and found out the bushings are notoriously soft, so Daizen here I come and new ball joints.

Point is I always was able to contribute and receive a lot of good info on the my other car forums but always in regard to pure performance.

Now that I have a nicer car for my family but still sporty for me, its glad to see the same ingenuity we used for full race in the name of comfort.

AND it helps me a ton

Thanks CL members

yep, only reason I didnt go with the 430 was the gte.

Just had my second kid so the gte will be little bit until I can sneak it by my wife, then say "oh look the engine blew and here is a new one"

right now I am just bringng back to like new condition.

Buffed it with extra cut rubbing compound, polished and waxed to remove most scratches, now doing lower ball joints and all daizen front end bushings. some hid housings and the...

bronze volk te37's +30 18x8.5 and +35 18x9.5 offsets waiting for 2 new tires. From there it is coilovers and sways. Then at least I can rail some turns when the kids aren't in the back.

exhaust and then the gte.

swap looks to be pretty straight forward. did a fully built sr20 swap into my s chassis so seems similar as far as usdm chassis made to accept the jdm motor.

Love when a noob searches before asking , gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside instead of the " for the millionth time " feeling.

Yeah man, I got flamed years ago one time on freshalloy for not using the search, never did it again. Searching is great, instant info, no waiting for replies. And when those replies come it just says search anyway with one these at the end

Good point, but my tires on the stock 16's are low, and I dont wanna buy another set of tires for the 16's when all i need are some 275/35/18's for the te's.

Someone said throw on some spacers, I was under the impression I was pretty much at the max offset to tuck when lowere given the width of the rims. The tires will be 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 fk452's.
