No. I would never buy such important components on ebay.

Buy the parts at a toyota dealer. Do it right the first time, or replace the motor the second time. It's your choice.

That was my initial reaction. What would something like this cost?

tough to say. I do know that getting it done at a shop is between 7-900 dollars. I would imagine that almost all of it is labor. You should be able to get the parts for well under $300.

Check out carson toyota, or some other dealer websites if you need to know right now. If not, call your local dealer tomorrow. They will definitely have the parts.

I've used many aftermarket t belt component kit brands. Never run across this one though. I'd stick with something like Continental, they have good quality pulleys and usually contain the hydraulic tensioner also.

Whoever you have do the repair, I would highly recommend you replace the hydraulic tensioner along with the t belt and water pump.

definitely. My friend's husband owns a reputable shop here in Clearwater, FL. I spoke with him a little while ago and he's said the same thing to avoid ebay stuff, especially on the water pump. He's going to look up the price for an OEM piece and let me know the price for everything.

You can save yourself about $100 from the dealer on the water pump if you go with the Aisin brand. Save another $100 on the idler and tensioner pulley with Koyo/NTN/NSK.

Completely agree. Buy OEM, get the parts discounted via a cl vendor. I wouldn't trust anything else, ESPECIALLY from ebay.

For something as important as the water pump and timing belt, it’s best not to cheap out there. Why take that risk to save a few bucks? Not worth it IMO.

I sent this to another member last week because I'm changing my timing belt/water pump today...

I have a '98 GS 300 and bought parts to do the timing belt/water pump replacement. These should be Toyota/Lexus part numbers...

#13568-49036 Timing belt
#13505-46041 Idler, T/B
#13540-46030 Tensioner
#90210-26002 Washer
#90311-40020 (2) Oil seal
#90311-46001 Oil seal
#16100-49876-83 Pump assembly
#90916-03093 Thermostat
#16325-62010 Gasket for thermostat
#96761-24022 (2) O-Ring
#96761-24028 O-Ring
#99366-D1930 V-Belt

Parts w/ tax came out to $502.61. Now I gotta find a reputable shop to do the repair.

Hope this helps.

Anyone have a list for 2001 GS430? I came across a thread a while ago but it didn't include the O-Rings. Is that for the water pump O rings? Thanks

It had

Water pump
Water pump gasket
Tensioner
Idler, Left
Idler, Right
Crank Seal
Timing belt
V-belt

I changed mine on my 99 gs4... It cost me $254 shipped to my house. that was everything that i needed. New waterpump, gasket, T belt. I took me a while to change it by myself as it was my first. I ordered all my parts from carson with the CL discount. Really good guys! Would recommend.

On a side note. I got the parts cheaper from them then i could through a friend at the dealership...
