Gs300 No Start Problem
So hate to have a needy first post but, here's my problem.
I bought a non running, very clean 99 gs300 to fix and daily drive. I looks to have been overheated (melted small hole in coolant res, and upper radiator neck is warped). The timing was also off, and it has very low compression on the two cylinders that I can pull the plugs out and test easily. I reset the timing, still no compression, the coolant is brown/black so I would assume headgasket. My question is are the blocks/heads prone to cracking/warping when overheated? Also any other ideas/advice appreciated.

Also should I be looking into replaceing anything in the bottom end? If I'm looking at a complete motor swap, I'm probably just going to to gte (did the aristo swap into my mkiv supra so I would assume its the same or easier since this is the chassis it was designed for).
If the coolant is brown/black, what does the oil look like? There is a guy in the classifieds selling a gte complete with tranny, etc. Any aluminum head is prone to cracking/warping if it overheats real bad.
Oil looks good actually. I'm not looking to go super cheap, but I'm not trying to spend the extra cash right now if I don't have to. I was hoping to throw some auto couture wheels I have on and drive it, not spend the time to do the swap.... yet. But if it has to be done, I'm going to have to do it. Any major differences on the aristo swap into a gs vs. a supra?
