Has anybody succesfully upgraded to projector headlights while keeping your auto levelling? I spoke to a reputable custom shop that said it can be done pretty easily by removing the inner housing pieces. I'm assuming that the headlamp position is separate from the housing or a part of the housing that can be separated?

 

yes, lots of people have headlight retro's and kept their auto levelers. talk to chrispy...or jefftsai

 

I just realized that the first generation GS's had projectors back in the mid 90s but my 02 430 doesn't. Seriously, WTF?!?!

 

yea pretty retarded, however I think it was an option or special addition or something IIRC.. I believe one of the 2gen GS's had that as well, like a platinum series or millennium edition

as for the auto leveling, once you open the housing, you can see how it operates. In short; its just a matter of when positioning the projector w/ shroud into reflector bowl, to make sure the shroud clears the bottom of the housing when it moves.
