Might want to try to buy a key from Ebay and replace the remote portion of it. Since your key is good I believe this will work. Of course you have to get it programmed by Lexus.
I did the same thing, but luckily mine still worked The board for the remote is probably gone. You'll may have to have another one made. There was thread a while back that may be of some interst to you.
Actually these keys are very durable, i remember going swimming at my girlfriends place and forgot they were in my trunks, i got them wet for like 20 mins and after i realized i got it out and removed the screw and dried it off, it still works know!
As a last resort, grab a bottle of distilled water. Remove battery and rinse the key and electronics. Shake the water out. pat dry with a towel/paper napkin. Let the key dry overnight.

Thats a bad idea.
Dry it up. If you really want to clean it, there are electronic sprays available from radio shack that dries almost instantly..."ELECTRONIC SHOWER" -- dry it up, if it doesnt work, it probably is cooked. You probably kept trying to push the button while it was wet right? Next time, you get electronics wet, remote battery immediately, dry for a day then reinsert battery without using the unit at all.
I'll probably bite the bullet and call Ninos over at Magnussen Lexus to see what he says... I've already tried taking it apart, etc. I'm just a little scared-- last time I talked to him about a spare key, he quoted me a price of $285. I asked around on here and someone said they could get me a spare for $100 from my VIN and someone else said they'd email me instructions to program it for $15. Does this sound reasonalble to you guys?
No one seems to think anything in the car will have to changed? My big concern was that without at least one working remote, they wouldn't be able to program another... which was going to lead to me remembering that the last time I took the car in, the remote for the loaner RX worked on my car...
Thanks Dex-- that's what I used as a guide to replace the battery.
Anyone know if the remote functionality and the transponder that communicates with the ignition to allow the car to start can be seperated?
I ask 'cause I see keys with remotes go for $30 on eBay, and I'm wondering if I can buy one of those and replace the transponder with the one from my key then reprogram the remote...

They are mutually exclusive. Hence, the valet key. But the transponder chip is molded into the keys without the remote, so I don't know if you could safely remove it.
