This thread reminds me of something.... My sister's 1982 Honda Civic wagon had a battery that lasted just like that. Went twelve years, car was in perfect shape and started and ran like a top.
Passenger noticed some softness in the floorboard and she took it to a mechanic and put the car up onto a lift - the battery (which looked fine up top) had slowly been leaking acid down the frame of the car and had actually corroded so much of the car's structure it had to be totaled.
Not saying that's going to happen with yours - just make sure to keep a good eye on it... and under it.
that's a lexus branded battery, but nut original. original has an battery condition indicator on top. blue circle meant good, red dot meant drained.
and also six exposed caps to refill water.
Thats right My car is a 02 and the battery died out on me last month IN the Toyota parking lot, so i just bought one there.. but as stated it has the indicator and refill caps...

2000 GS300 here with original battery and 127K miles. Running a decent stereo system pushing out about 1.2K watts. I have noticed that if I do leave the ignition turned to accesories for a few minutes without the stereo even being turned up past 5 on the volume(goes to 62), my car has trouble starting up after. Maybe it's time I get a new battery. Optima yellow top?
*EDIT* - My car was made in October of '99. Lol. 119 month old battery
Haha tell me about it, but I didn't own the car until I joined, although I was assured that everything on the car is the original part when I purchased it.
