I heard VVTI causes problems at high HP ratings. Aristo I believe does not.

Our generation Aristo came vvt-i in japan with the 1st Gen body gs3 coming in a gte non vvt-I turbo. You really shouldn't have any issues if you go standalone on higher hp goals.. I think we have a couple guys here who are running the vvt-i gte swap. Maybe they can chime in.

VVTi GTE has cams available now. Previously the restriction was that there were no VVTi cams on the market. Now there are a few sets available so it's no problem if you want to aim for higher power.

Well 1st thier all 2jz's including what you have now in your gs300. I think what you mean is GTE. Theirs the 2jz-gte vvt-i and non vvt-i gte which came in the older Aristos. Difference is about 10 tq I think I read, that and the vvt-i turbos blades are steel like the US supras not ceramic. The vvt-i clip should cost a little more than non vvt-i Gte clip but it's a little more plug and play than the non vvt-i. Sounds confusing? Jeff could probably explain better than me.
