New Headlights

Default New Headlights

I swaped out my old headlights for some new ones i cleaned up the old ones a bunch of times but they never looked so good. Just wanted to share.

shoulda saved your money and used 1500 and 2000 wet sand paper with Meguire's PlastX... just as good as brand new.

Sounds like my ES... I clean and clean them and they never stay clear.. Always fading... Looks Good..

So what's the catch? Why does everyone wants to buy old headlights? My headlights are 6 years old and they still look 90% new.

It's for the people that park their cars outside or people that use it on a daily basis. If your car is garaged most of the time then your headlights will last much longer before becoming hazed. Also, if you park it outside is it exposed to the rain, snow, ice, sun, and other harsher elements often? If you have a parking garage at work, then your headlights will last longer as well. Bottom line...it just depends on how much you expose the headlights to the elements. Generally the headlights will start to fade within 5 years if the car is parked outside all the time with no cover.

Nice! I really want to replace my lens since they have small internal cracks.


For those who sand their headlights, make sure you spray on some UV protection for plastic (Diamondite is a brand that comes to mind) otherwise they're going to yellow again. But I wouldnt' be worried about stripping out the original UV protection. With the way they look, Toyota didn't seeem to bother adding much anyways
