Since it's gotten hot, like really hot here, with a ton of humidity, I have noticed my stock radio has two spots in it where the LCD is going out. Take this for example....the numbers cannot be seen because it's simply not there. It was in one spot, and now it's in two.
I don't want to have to change anything over something small like this, but it's getting annoying trying to read what track and disc I have playing. It's a 2000 GS400 with I believe all Pioneer stuff. It's not the Levinson gear.
How do you revive a dying front face on your radio?
I took the easy way out, and just got an aftermarket head unit with nav.
I actually really like the stock radio. Don’t have to worry about anyone stealing it, and with the factory speakers, it good enough for me. Maybe if I were 10 years younger, but now, I’d rather not change it unless I can find another stock deck….but I don’t want to change it out just because of this. I thought there might be a way to maybe tap the screen or something to get it to register normally….or maybe I’m just SOL.
