if all else fails! do what i did! run around your car throwing Holy-Water on it! seems to work for me! J/k

But for real i ended up Bypassing it http://http://bananags.grantham-inte...le_brake_warn/ its a good step by step by BananaGs, sure you'll never know in the future if your lights go out but hell its better than that bright Orange light on your dash I ended up replacing all my rear lights with LED and was too lazy to go and buy the resistor for the LEDS like GS 4 fiend suggested , ( not saying your advise wasn't good ) im just lazy! after opening the housing and third brake lights numerous times u get tired of it ... Nip/Tuck! works great

keep in mind, aftermarket bulbs will sometimes cause a tail light indicator even if the bulb works properly. Always go with OEM bulbs....sounds crazy but I have seen it a million times. Usually there is an aftermarket bulb in the 3rd brake light housing causing this problem.

You need to check the brakes light at night so you can see the difference. Check it with the lights ON.

3rd brake light unit holds 5 bulbs....one may be out and still look "normal". I suggest you pull out the unit to check.

I think you are right. I just changed a blown 3rd brake light on my 2000 es300. It's a7440 and I changed to an led. The led pupulls 1.5

watts but output is a respectable 180 lumens. The factory bulb pulls 25 watts.

On one hand, you searched, which is great.

On the other hand, last post was 7 years ago and the issue had already been resolved.

Does the indicator engage as soon as your parking lights turn on or when you hit the brake?

Also, can someone with all OEM bulbs unplug the 3rd harness and relay if that triggers the light out light?
