just ASAP mate. You arent really going to do any damage in a week, i think i had to wait around 2 weeks before i got mine in for alignment. The only thing is that it may pull a little one way or the other or have a bit of a wobble at speed or whatever. nothing crazy just not quite right, and it will be fixed generally with the alignment.
you dont want to go running round for any more than a month or so if driving it daily without an alignment though as it will just kill your tyres.
The shops that recommend wait a little bit is to account for settling that may occur so you don't have to do 2x alignment. The cost in the interim of some driveability/tire wearis less then an extra alignment. This is assuming your car is at least in the alignment ballpark after your install.
How long does it take to settle? I think a week or so usually takes care of any changes that may occur.
so maybe if all goes well i wont even need to align it?
If you are dropping the car, you'll need alignment job done. If not you will get really fast tire wear. You may also correct other alignment-related issues with your car. You need to think over what's the point of dumping all that money into your car, if it doesn't even drive straight?
Compare the ~$60 for alignment versus the cost of the tire wear.
If you're dropping the car a lot, then there will not be enough adjustment left to get the car within specs. You will then have the choice of getting a kit, or just live with the increased tire wear. Again, I question why one would choose to modify their car to make it look "fast", but since the tires aren't even properly aligned, it is actually slower or performs worse.
I'll leave it to other owners of the springs you chose to comment if a kit is needed.
I just installed a set of Dfs and the car is pretty low, alighnment was way out of wack, i'm like .6 on the left and .9 off the camber minimum specs even after alignment not really sure how bad that is, caster and toe are dead on now but i'm sure the car wont mind some UCAs and a rear camber kit. I'm going to wait a few weeks and keep paying attention to the inside of a tire to see how its wearing if i see anything abnormal time to get some camber goodies.
You can do it right away if you like, but it wouldn't kill you if you waited a week either. I did mine a few days after the installation at my own convenience.
it all depends on how much it was effected. if the alignment was barely off, it could be forever until you need alignment.
i had a 240sx with new tires and bad alignment. it went thru the tires in 2 weeks. right down to the metal wires across the whole inside of the tire
