Question Need help with clear corner install on the bumper.

Can some tell me an easy way to install clear corners on a GS? I've searched past threads but I really didnt get much info on an easy way of doing it. Someone actually suggested going from the fog light assembly but I tried that and it's a tight fit. Please help.

I have not tried the fog light method, but the other method is cramped as well, and probably takes longer to gain access. The traditional method involves removing screws from the plastic lining in the wheel well along with one or two under the front bumper. Then prying the crap out of the lining until you can wedge your forearm all the way in to reach the lights, where you will be working strictly on feel. If you can make a go of the fog light method, it sounds much easier.

ezlyf,
Have a small 10mm socket wrench, and a phillips head screw driver ready.

Let say that you are starting on the left side.

Turn your wheel all the way to the right so that the tire gives you enough room at the wheel well. You will have to take off two screws. One at the bottom of the wheel well, and the other you should be able to see. You should see them.
Unscrew those screws, and then you will have to pull the wheel well, so that you can get your hand behind the stock corner light. The corner light is attached by two 10mm screws. Use you little wrench, and take off the screws. It is a tight space, so be patient. Then just replace the light. Tighten everything back up. Be carefule NOT to touch your bulb. Then do the right side, by turning your wheels to the left.

Default clear corners

10mm socket wrench is all you will need... Turn the wheel all the way in and remove the fog lamp. Reach through the hole and remove the two nuts. diconenct and remove. Then reverse for the clears. it takes all but 5 mins tops.... I recommend getting the PIAA amber bulb. It is yellow, not orange. It looks much nicer. I have those on mine. It look sharp yo. If you want a pic, let me know, I will post for you all.

You do all this through the fog lamp hole??? I tried changing the little bulbs through there and it was a very tight fit. i couldnt imagine changing the lense through this method. Is there an easier way?

LOL, actually I could have finished sooner but I dropped my 10mm socket inside the driverside fog light area and couldn't get my arm in far enough to reach. had to call my friend...

exlyf,

If clear corners are considered rice, then there are many guilty parties here including myself. I don't think they look rice on the GS because the whole front end is clear. IMO, it blends better. Try accessing the light through the foglight holes. Seems like it'll be much easier.

Turning the wheel may get access, however, I suggest taking the rim off to avaoid any potential damage.

Before you guys go crazy and buy these, hold up. I have a buddy that's importing ones straight from Japan. They look a lot better than the one that's currently out in the marketplace...

It'll be in the $40-$50/pair range. It's clear in color, but the lens isn't "clear" like glass...so you won't see the bulb...

Personally, I think the current ones are RICE (they look like those fake Altezza lights). I had a set but after I saw them, I chucked 'em...

...of course now, I don't need them...
