I been getting this weird noise from the automatic telecopic steering. when i shut the car down, the steering wheel sucks back into the dash. when that happends, this wierd dry low sounding screeching noise comes from the column.
anyone ever had the same issue?

 

Sounds like either the gear is going, or the slides (not sure what they are called exactly) need some white lithium grease.

There is a DIY on replacing the gear in the SC forums...The GS is different but the concept is the same.

 

Mine doesn't suck back into the dash, but makes this crunching noise when it's supposed to tilt up. Brought it to the dealer, guess what, didn't do it. Hasn't done it since last week. I hate when that happens. It has done that since I bought the car in February.

 

Mine I hear noise coming from the center a/c vent...a clicking sound...I haven't had the time to diagnose it yet, but anyone know what the heck that is?...

 

joel....yours sounds like potentially a servo if its coming from the a/c. look over my DIY..u sure yours is the steering wheel joel?

 

I think my problem is the slides. It sounds like a drying grinding noise.
