its the bushing replacement that is a problem. No dealer around me wants to even touch it and the one that does wants to charge $1300 in labor..
1. re-torque the lug nuts. they are suppose to be at 76 ft/lbs.
2. make sure the wheel is hubcentric.
3. jack up your car and put it on jackstands. try and move the steering column by yourself and see how much play there is when you apply a good amount of force. you can also have someone moving the steering wheel from left to right to check for play. its a good time to check tie-rods too.
4. if alignment is far off from the original spec (last known spec that works), chances are you have a bad bushing
5. if bushings are good, check the wheel bearing
6. if the wheel bearing is good, check the upper and lower joints
7. if the joints are good and within spec, it's a tire and/or wheel issue
those of you who run stretched tires always jump to 7 before 1 and then back to 7 again to be very sure. 9/10 times i had a bubble in my tire or a bent rim.
