There are a lot of things besides tie rod ends that can cause shaking/vibration at high speeds. It can be caused by:
bad tires, wheels, alignment, CA bushings, wheel bearings, ball joints, subframe mounts, etc. etc. etc.

It's probably a mixture of things. I just live with it and drive at 65mph or less. If I get above 70mph my steering wheel bounces like booty in a raggae video. I'll get around to replacing the bushings, tie rods, sway links, etc one of these days.
Cheapest start is having your wheels / tires balanced. Then go from there. Don't do an alignment unless you know that nothing on the front end needs replacement, or else you're gonna be paying for it again.
+1 on the tires, so many people come into my store and ask for an alignment to stop a vibration not knowing any better, go for the tire balance, they should check to the rims for any damage at the same time. Some places offer a free alignment check and will check your front end parts at the same time and let you know if something has too much play in it.
