Hey CL,
Just wondering if the warranty (3yr/100,000) for the CPO vehicles cover scratches on the hood and fenders of the car? I didn't notice these marks until I washed the car for the first time the other day. Plus I bought the car during the evening, so I couldn't inspect the car like you can during daylight. I read in another thread that someone bought a CPO Lexus from Manhattan Lexus and they replaced the whole headlight assembly because of condensation. Would they re-paint my hood with the warranty or am I better off just getting it done myself? Then I go into worrying about matching up the paint close enough to fool the eye. Thanks for any help you can give, because this is REALLY an eye sore.

I dont think the CPO warranty will cover the paint scratches. You can talk to the dealer and see what they can do as you buy the car there. Some Lexus dealer do have very good after sales service.
On they other hand I won't recommended you to repaint your car unless the scratches is very very noticeable. 90% of the time the repaint don't come out right. If the scratch is minor the detailer can buff out the majority of it.

Hey "KS"
These scratches are very deep that trying to buff it out would not even put a dent(no phun intended) in it. I'll take your advice though and talk to the dealer. Thanks for your reply.

I was the one who got my assemblies replaced. You should ask your dealer though... the headlights were a safety thing as well as ascetic thing.
For a "used" vehicle I would anticipate some wear (chips), but you might have some pull if you just purchased it--especially if you didn't fill out their survey yet. The Lexus dealers really, realy want to make sure they get high grades for whatever reason (use it to your advantage--you should be 100% happy with your purchase).
