Default DTRL, city lights?

Hey guys i have a question.
on my gs, when i used to have stock 194 filament bulbs in the city lights, they would light up when my lightstalk was in AUTO.
they would light up when i drive around town in the day.

now, i replaced them with LEDS and when i drive around town in the daytime, the only lights that light up are the highbeams at low power.

when my headlights turn on at night, the city lights turn on like normal, but they do not turn on in the day anymore.

how come my highbeams are acting like my DTRLs now?
i want the 194 bulbs to be on during the day because it looks nicer and is the only reason i replaced them to LEDs

*please note: all this is in AUTO mode for the lightstalk. I even tried turning it to the running lights position and the LEDs still dont light up. only the highbeams do.

Thanks and sorry if i'm not too clear

pretty sure that 194 bulb does not run during the day, only the high beams running at low power are on during the day.

don't see a point in the 194 bulb AND the high beam running at half power at the same time.

if you want that bright white light, you can replace your high beam bulb with an LED version, which you can find at v-leds.com, the consequence of this is that you will lose the high beam capability.

not mine

even if it did, it would not over power the high beams running at half power..

I'm almost positive it does not turn along with your DTRLS (high beam running at half power)

My 194 city lights on my 03 GS430 doesn't come on during the day. When high beam DRL lights are on with the lights off the city lights are off. When the lights come on, the DRL turns off, and the city lights turn on. At least that is how mine works.

before i put in the LEDs, the 194s came on ONLY. the highbeams were not on at all.
it looked nice and subtle like that. now i dont know why they dont go on any longer.

Do the LED 194 city lights come on at all? If not, you may have them reversed. If they do come on at sometime then that is not the problem. Anyway, not sure why yours came on all the time. Mine only comes on with either the parking lights or low beam, but never with the DRL.

put your old ones back in, i'm sure you'll notice that they are off when the DRLs are on.

before i swapped my 194 with leds, i had a similar misconception because the stock 194 and DRL emitted a similar light (colour).

Mine aren't on during the day either. On a side note, I hate the DRL's, I might have to try to disable them soon, not sure how motivated I am to start messing with the fuse box though.
