First post - new SD owner
Debonair, I used Dupli-Color caliper paint which I purchased from Autozone. On past cars I have always used 500 degree engine paint, which I probably should have stuck with. The engine paint seemed to go on much smoother and only took one coat for nice, even coverage and after six years on my 300m a quick swipe with a rag and they looked as good as the day I painted them. The caliper paint may last just as long but I had to put three coats on to get similar results. Maybe it was due to differences in temperature and humidity when I was applying it though.
MPLexus, I am considering the same combo. Is your SD black or gray? Tried to find one of your threads with pictures but you have wayyyyyy to many posts to sort through...link?
Pictures as soon as this snow melts. I tried to get a labor quote from my shop today, but I guess they were closed due to the snow and ice. I am thinking it would probably make the most sense to go ahead and get new struts at the same time, but I hate to toss perfectly good struts that may last me several more years since I am a low mileage driver (work is around 1/2 mile away), but then again now that I have a lexus I am always looking for an excuse to take a drive...anyone want to buy them?
