Default Snow chains or cables??

hey,

everyone i need some help.

I drive a 98 gs 400, with tires size 225/55/r16!!

NAPA AUTO PARTS and KRAGEN recommended getting cables instead of chains.

What do you think? Can I just use cables?

Please let me know! I'm going to the snow, FULLY LOADED CAR, and it will snow for sure!

I don't want the chains to ruin my car...

Chains might not ruin you car, but it may ruin the road...

I've used snow tires and never chains, no problems at all, never gotten really stuck that needed a tow... just hung up once on iced snow since my car is too low, but tires dug into the snow/ice all the way to the ground, it gripped, and I got out...

EDIT::

I ended up NOT using the tire cables, and thinking I would be able to return them if I didn't touch them, sadly, I just looked at the receipt..and it says ALL TIRE CHAIN SALES ARE FINAL....can i return them saying that they didn't fit my tires?
