2 days in a row my stereo shut off and started back up by istelf. Today while on the highway cruise set at 110 the car shuts off dash light turn off for 1 sec and everything turns back on cruise isn't effected. I thought at first my tranny but everything shut off so it can't be my tranny. It only lasted a second but the car did jerk as if I shut it off while driving.

Could this be something with my stereo shorting out? Or maybe something else?

 

That is a strange one. Is it a factory stereo? If it is, you could have a fuse issue that is affecting part of the cluster. If it's not, then I would definitely start looking at the wiring. Having the engine shut off at 70 MPH is probably not good for it, either...

No that's what I'm thinkin, I'm just wondering what electrically woudl cause the car to shut itself off, and I know it did because I fell the car jerk. I'm going to reset the computer and see if maybe something go wonky in there. I'm also planning on taking out the aftermarket stereo soon.

 

Wow, where were you driving that allowed you to have been going 110 especially with cruise control on?
