I know, we have an audio section. But the audio section seem like it doesn't get as much traffic as the 2GS forum.

To troubleshoot, I read these threads.
cd tray stuck in changer
CD changer not working.
and neither of them help.

My car is a 1998 Lexus GS400 w/ Nakamichi.

The CD changer is getting power, but not ejecting. I'm not sure what Err 5 is (will contact dealership tomorrow)...it's been throwing Err5 for a while but I have an iPod input.

Any help would be helpful. I don't want to pay $500bucks for an OEM CD changer.

 

Does it seem jammed? SOmething happen to my 97 ES300 and i ended up removing the changer from the car and disassembling the changer. It is not as bad as it may sound. Only a few philips screw to open the changer and manually remove the cartridge. Once it was removed, everything worked fine. It turned out that one of the CD's was crooked and ended up jamming the whole changer.

 

I'm wide awake at 4:30AM so I might tackle this then...
it's moving, or at least trying to. and the sound it's making would make sense.

 

Worst case, I do have one for sale in the classifieds.

 

I've been searching but I can't find the thread... does anyone remember if the Nakamichi equipped GS has the same CD Changer as the Nav equipped Pioneer models??

 

What happened is that the individual cd slide out has one end at one level and the other end on the higher or lower level. This happens when missing one of the slide outs. Therefore its stuck.

I had it under warranty and the dealer replaced the player.
