High milage Lexus is a-ok!
I think the Lexus V8 is just about indestructible. Has ANYONE EVER heard of ANY problem with the engine itself!?
However, what I'd worry about on a high mileage car is failure and replacement of mechanical and electronic bits around it. Not to mention squeaks, rattles, and creaks, and leather that looks old isn't so appealing.
Mine makes a VROOM VROOM noise when I step on the pedal

Anyway, she's pretty knowledgable car wise and is looking around for the right one.
Before buying any car with that many miles on it a complete diagnostic check up would have to be done 1st. (compression, leakdown etc..) If the seller had any problems w. me having all this done(at my expense of course) then as far as I was concerned, he's hiding something and that car's off de list !!
Rattles, squeeks etc.. I would have to check that out on a car by car basis, I hard to imagine a late model Lexus squeeking, but I'm sure it happens.
My '93 GS300 has 83k on it and I think it has one small rattle in the rt. rear interior panel........
So the G4 search is on................
My mathimatical extrapolation on how long my '98 GS4 should last comes out to ...+630,000 miles!
(You laugh-I'm thinkin' it's do-able if I keep the same maintenance habits, and don't die of old age, lol).
80,000miles is baby miles compared to my ls. Also i driven my cousins 02 gs4 and there is no difference in engine noise and idle. Only thing is the gs has a little more power and a little stiffer suspension.(i have AS)
