Possible dumbest question ever asked
Hi! I know this might be the dumbest question ever asked. But I tried to find my own answer, and it doesnt seems to help much.
Anyway, I just bought my 01 GS w/ ML system. I am wondering if i need to do any re-wiring to install a in-dash DVD player to replace the ML head unit? or I can just go to any audio store and buy a harness like all other toyota cars?
Thanks in advanced! and feel free to flame me!

I haven't done it for an ML, but in addition to the wire harnes, I'm sure you're going to have to get the bypass unit (to use the factory amp) which can run anywhere from $80-$120+
the other option is to rewire every thing so that the stockers run off the deck. (but that would eliminate the woofer). So its either buy the unit or replace every thing

you will need to bypass your factory amp, making your factory sub useless but you can run the door speakers off of the head unit. You will also have to find a climate control unit from a non-nav GS as your ML nav system controls the climate control too.
a harness will help, but you will need a few other goodies as well. Do a search on here for bypass factory amp, either in here or in the audio forum.
