Weird Thing Happened After ECU Reset...
I consider myself pretty knowledgeable in electronics, actually my strong point...but today I'm stumped over something very simple, maybe.
So tonight I reset my ecu by disconnecting the negetive cable battery as I've done times in the past, cool. So I disconnect the cable, wait approx 1hr+15 mins or so; did a little MAF cleaning as well. When I connected the battery back, the horn was going off, no biggie, turnned it off by pressing the unlock button. When I got back in the car, the radio wasnt working. So I drove it around the block thinking that maybe something came lose, which is a strech because I had been nowhere near the radio. So still nothing even when i returned, I turnned off the car and started it back a few times, nothing
So I return back inside from the chilling 20 degree weather.
About 2hrs later I returned back to the car, still nothing from the radio
So I think, what would happen if I just disconnected and reconnected the cable again? So I did and "Benjamin Franklin", it worked
Now who can explain this? Maybe its simple, maybe its just something that I missed in electronics class one day. BTW my battery voltage was reading 11.7 on my radar detector that is hard wired into the fuse box...I never really pay attention to it, but I do believe that it normally reads 12.1.
Oh, and a wierd thing or currious thing happened while I was checkig a few things out on my car, I had the key turned but not running and the battery started to drop under voltage of 11 after about 20 mins, which I believe the life is supposed to be 75 mins or so.
Any one with an idea please chime in. Is it time for a new ecu or maybe a reflash?
