It will eventually be considered a "Classic" but that is way down the road.

no, the look of the 2gs is timeless. It will always be regarded as one of, if not THE best looking lexus ever made.

Not necessarily old enough for classic status quite yet but it soon will be.

1st gen doesn't look old to me. Its aged very well, especially modded. Considering the GS was sold in fall 97 as a 98 model and still looks good with newer cars, well its aged well. Not many 98 cars can say that.

Thats the god honest truth. If you look at bmw and benz they change body style so much that they tend to get labeled old quick. My boy bought a 2000 740 bmw back in 2000 new and from 2000 to 2008 they changed alotta **** now he want to get rid of it lol. I think they changed the styled of the car 4 times in 8yrs if i'm not mistaken, look at the 2gs it ran from 98 to 05 and its 2008 so people still look at it as recent. The new gs in my opinion doesnt take away the 2gs shine. The new is however makes the old is look inferior when it comes to styling.

2nd gen GS will always be a classic, one of the best looking Lexus to come out of there.
When you look at the MB E-Class and 5 series that were from the late 90s, you can see the much modern look of the GS. The only thing i will say hasn't aged well especially with the 98-01 is the interior...looks so Toyota Camry haha --->> nothing a 2-Din DVD screen can't fix.

The 2GS, like that of the 1LS, is gonna be one of those cars which will always age very well and hold it's own among many of the newer styles; especially in modded form. They are pretty much classic already in that they are easily recognizable, have timeless styling, and with the 3GS being out in the market, makes people truly appreciate this beautiful car (3GS is nice but is just too easily forgettable) for the workmanship that it possesses.

Agreed... the minor revisions to the interior for 01-05 made a world of difference and really keep it lookin' fresh.
